On Sunday, August 21, 2022, officers noticed a wanted man riding a bicycle near Magnus Avenue and Powers Street.
As police attempted to stop the male he dropped the backpack he was wearing and fled on the bike. Officers caught up to the suspect after a short pursuit and placed him under arrest.
Inside the backpack was found a loaded .22 calibre revolver and six rounds of ammunition.
36-year-old Luke Randall Swampy has been charged for his alleged involvement with Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Carrying Concealed Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition and Warrant x 2 (Report/Ident).
Swampy was detained in custody.
