RCMP in Selkirk responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 59 around 11:55 pm Thursday night in the RM of St. Clements.
Police say they found the vehicle stuck in the ditch alongside the highway.
The 31-year-old driver was not injured but on further investigation police learned that not only was the vehicle stolen the driver was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
The driver was arrested without incident say police.
A search of the vehicle uncovered bear spray, 86 grams of Meth and eight grams of purple heroin along with an undisclosed amount of Canadian Cash. A search of the area around the vehicle also uncovered a machete and a knife.
The suspect has been charged for his alleged involvement with, Operate a Conveyance While Prohibited. two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Fail to Comply, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Possession of Break-in Instruments and two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.
