Saskatoon Police say alleged bank robber Steve Vogelsang is a person of interest in July robbery

Saskatoon Police say that Steve Vogelsang is a “person of Interest” in an armed robbery that happened July 31, 2017.

According to investigators an Eighth Street East bank in Saskatoon was robbed around 11:30 am.

Police say that as the robbery was in progress they responded but the thief was gone before they arrived on scene. Although no one was hurt the suspect said he had a gun and was able to make off with a sum of money.

Vogelsang was arrested and charged on October 21, 2017, after he allegedly robbed two Medicine Hat banks one on October 19 and the other October 20.

As a result of his arrest in Medicine Hat, Regina Police were able to link Vogelsang to three more bank robberies in their city that he allegedly committed.

Vogelsang remains in custody in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
