Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service is investigating the cause of a fatal fire that claimed the life of one person on Wednesday, February 21, 2024.
Firefighters were called to a multi-family residence in the first 100 block of Vivian Avenue around 4:18 a.m.
When emergency crews arrived on the scene they found smoke coming from one of the units. An interior offensive attack was launched and the fire was declared under control at 5:01 a.m.
A search of the building was conducted and one person was found deceased.
The fire was contained to the suite where it originated.
