A Manitoba RCMP officer is facing three counts of dangerous driving after an investigation by the Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba (IIU).
Virden RCMP Constable Kyle Trenholm is alleged to have been involved in three incidents between May 1 and June 1, 2019.
Tne IIU claims that after a lengthy investigation into the circumstances of the incidents there are reasonable grounds to believe criminal offences occurred. Civilian Director Zane Tessler has authorized three counts of dangerous driving under section 249(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
Trenholm was notified of the charges on January 2, 2020, and was issued a summons to appear in Provincial Court on February 7, 2020, in Virden.
