A violent carjacking at a St. Anne’s Road gas station resulted in the arrest of three individuals, including two 17-year-olds and a 14-year-old, say Winnipeg Police Service
The incident occurred on Monday, March 31, 2025, at approximately 3:20 p.m. when a 62-year-old man was exiting his vehicle at a gas station in the 300 block of St. Anne’s Road. According to police reports, three suspects approached the man, forcefully entered his 2017 Toyota Sequoia, and struck him with the vehicle door as he attempted to intervene. The suspects then fled the scene before police arrived. Fortunately, the victim sustained no injuries.
Later that evening, at approximately 11:10 p.m., patrolling officers located the stolen vehicle in the Old St. Vital neighbourhood. A traffic stop was conducted at the intersection of Coniston Street and St. Mary’s Avenue, leading to the apprehension of all three occupants without further incident. During the arrest, a folding knife was seized from one of the suspects.
A 17-year-old male from Winnipeg is facing multiple charges, including robbery, possession of a weapon, and three counts of failing to comply with a condition of a release order. He has been detained in custody.
Another 17-year-old male from Winnipeg is charged with robbery and flight while pursued by a peace officer. He was released on an Undertaking, as mandated by the Criminal Code.
The third suspect, a 14-year-old male from Winnipeg, is charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. He was released on an Appearance Notice, as mandated by the Criminal Code.
