Video surveillance helps Brandon police nab fraud suspect

Brandon Police arrested a 39-year-old male on Thursday, November 14, 2019 in connection to a vehicle break-in.

Police say the suspect smashed a window of a vehicle on November 6, 2019 then stole a purse from inside while it was parked on 7th Street.

The suspect then made multiple purchases on the victim’s credit cards by using the tap function.

Police say that vehicle break-in and the use of the credit cards were all captured on surveillance video. Investigators were able to use the video to identify the suspect.

The accused is facing charges for his alleged involvement of Mischief to Property Under $5000, Theft Under $5000, and Fraudulent Use of Credit Card X 3.
