RCMP released more information about the mass casualty collision near Carberry on Thursday, June 15, 2023.
According to police, video from the semi-truck involved in the collision shows the bus entered the roadway in front of the truck which had the right of way. RCMP is analyzing the video before any other determinations can be made.
Police have talked to the semi-driver but have yet to speak to the driver of the bus who is still being treated in hospital for his injuries.
Multiple witnesses to the collision have also been interviewed by investigators and their statements appear to corroborate what is seen in the video of the collision.
The ten people ( 6 females, 4 males) who were injured in the collision have been identified. The remainder of the people on the bus are presumed to have died. The deceased have yet to be identified.
Police say that there were 25 people (19 females and 6 males) on the bus at the time of the collision between the ages of 58 and 88.
RCMP continue to investigate.
