Fire crews responded to an apartment fire in the 500 block of Burnell Street Saturday night.
It began in a first floor apartment but residents also report there were two additional fires in the stair wells.
Crews were on scene after putting out the initial fires for over an hour until smoke could clear.
After releasing many of the responding units from the scene several had to be call back when smoke was discovered on the second floor. Turns out that a resident had left a stove on when they evacuate the building.
There were no injures reported but fire crews did call in animal services to take possession of a cat that was rescued in the building.
The fire is under investigation.
