An armed robbery at a Salter Street gas station could have ended badly has the victims not been able to disarm the suspect and flee.
Police say that around 2:50 am on Sunday, July 10, 2022 a male in his 30s and a female in her 20s were getting gas at a station at Slter Street and Mountain Avenue when an armed male confronted them and demanded their property.
A struggle ensued and the robbery suspect was disarmed. The victims were able to then get into their vehicle and flee unharmed.
Police say that officers were able to recover the weapon which was a sawed-off .22 calibre rifle.
The suspect is described as an Indigenous male in his 20s or 30s, between 5’6 and 5’11” tall with a heavier build. He was wearing a red sweater, black hat and carried a backpack.
