Victim stabbed and forcibly confined say police

Winnipeg Police have six people in custody after a male in his 20s had been stabbed and forcibly confined early Monday morning, April 18, 2022.

According to police the male had been at a gathering at a home in the 100 block of Johnson Avenue when an argument broke out. The victim was stabbed, beaten and prevented from leaving.

The victim eventually was able to flee the residence and find help at a nearby convenience store. Police performed first aid on the victim as they waited fro paramedics to arrive. The victim was taken to hospital in unstable condition but soon was upgraded to stable.

Police have charged the following six adults for their alleged involvement with forcible confinement and aggravated assault:

  • Nicholas Morningstar FIDDLER, (28)
  • Erika FIDDLER, (30)
  • Derek Michael DESMARAIS, (47)
  • Wesley Allen KLYNE, (26)
  • Leonard Phillip MOXAM, (42)
  • Matthew Frederick STEVENS, (24)

All six accused were detained in custody.
