Police catch suspects after they begin to fight each other
A residence in the north end of Winnipeg was the location of a home invasion on Sunday July 9, 2017.
It happened around noon in the 1200 block of Alexander Avenue. Three suspects entered the home and confronted two victims inside. One of the victims was hit in the head while the suspects looted the home stealing a number of electronics and a vehicle.
The suspects then left the home and fled in the stolen vehicle. At around 2: 00 pm the vehicle was involved in a hit and run with another vehicle in the 200 block of St. Mary’s Road.
Just after 5: 00 pm security at St. Vital Shopping Centre alerted police to an incident involving the suspects. Security observed the suspects fighting within the vehicle in the mall parking lot. When police arrived the suspect vehicle attempted to leave the parking lot but were stopped by officers.
Three people were placed under arrest and police found a small quantity of methamphetamine in the vehicle.
Two males and one female are facing a number of charges for their alleged involvement.
Grant George Oswald Barthelette, 26, Matthew John Delorme, 23 and Tara-Lynn Lightfoot, 26 all from Winnipeg have been charged with Break & Enter to commit Theft – Dwelling House, Robbery (x2), Possession of a Scheduled Substance – Methamphetamine as well as other offences.
Lightfoot also faces several charges under the Highway Traffic Act for driving without a licence and failing to exchange particulars.
All three were detained in custody.
