App helps victim find stolen vehicle

Around 3:00 am on Sunday March 17, 2019 a vehicle that had been left running in the 1600 block of Main Street was stolen. The owner tried to stop the vehicle but was unable to. The theft was reported to Winnipeg Police.

Later that same day, around 10:25 am, the victim found the vehicle using the “find my phone” app for a cellular phone left in the vehicle. As the victim approached the stolen vehicle the suspect fled on foot. The victim chased after him and with the help of local security officers held the suspect for police.

24-year-old Justin Gledhill is facing charges of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000.

He was detained in custody.
