Even though there have been no reports made to them Brandon Police issued a warning about a possible scam that has been reported on social media.
The scam they are referring to is this:
An individual asks a driver for a ride claiming they are in medical distress while another person nearby is waiting to steal the vehicle.
According to the Police, it is plausible that a scam like this might be operating but they reiterate that they have not received any reports to indicate it is happening in Brandon.
Police say that if you encounter a situation where someone wants a ride trust your instincts and call 911.
Emergency Services will arrive on scene quickly and can provide the necessary medical assistance.
