Vehicle seriously damaged after driver speeds through construction site

A Winnipeg driver will have a lot of explaining to do to Manitoba Public Insurance after he drove his vehicle through a section of Pembina Highway that was cordoned off for road construction.

Around 9:35 pm emergency crews were called to the scene of the single-vehicle collision and found the vehicle resting against the curb with damage to the front end and front and rear axles.

The driver of the vehicle appeared uninjured and allegedly claimed he did not see the construction area.

Traffic on Pembina Highway was backed up for over a kilometre.
