Two people were taken into custody after an SUV jumped the curb on Broadway, narrowly missing a tree, ran over a park bench and then came to a stop in a garden surrounding the firefighter memorial in Memorial Park.
The incident happened just before 11:00 pm on Friday, June 2, 2023.
An adult female and an adult male were quickly placed in custody by officers and assessed by firefighter/paramedics.
Winnipeg Police Service Public Information Officer Claude Chancy told News4 in an email police believe the driver of the vehicle was impaired.
