Manitoba’s police watchdog the Independent Investigations Unit (IIU) are looking into an incident that saw two people injured in a traffic accident after one of the vehicles involved was being chased by police.
It happened in Selkirk on Saturday, November 25, 2017, just after 8:00 pm. Police say an officer tried to pull over a pickup truck near Manitoba and Main Street but the driver refused to comply. The driver ran the red light at the intersection and slammed into another vehicle.

Police arrested the three occupants of the pickup.
The two victims in the other vehicle were taken to hospital for observation.
Because the collision occurred while police were pursuing a vehicle the IIU is looking into the case.
It is the responsibility of the IIU to investigate all serious incidents involving police officers in Manitoba.
