Man assaulted with a vehicle in Marion St. parking lot

Winnipeg Police have arrested and charged a 25-year-old male after he allegedly assaulted a man with his vehicle.

Police say that around 2:20 am on Saturday, April 6, 2019, a 36-year-old male was closing a bar in the 300 block of Marion Street. While in the parking lot of the bar the employee said he heard squealing tires as a vehicle headed directly towards him.

The man tried to jump out of the way but was hit in the lower body causing him to land on the vehicles hood and windshield. The driver took off in the vehicle.

Police located the suspect on Sunday, April 7, 2019. He has been charged with Assault with a Weapon, Drive Carelessly, Drive Suspended/While Disqualified and Drivers Fail to Exchange Particulars.

The suspect was released on a promise to appear in court.
