Vaccine eligibility expands in Manitoba

As the third wave of COVID-19 begins to get a foothold in Manitoba public health officials have once again expanded the eligibility requirements to receive vaccines.

As of Monday, April 19, 2021, those aged 40 and over can receive the AstraZeneca vaccine at a pharmacy or medical clinic. The previous requirement limiting the vaccine to those with existing health conditions no longer applies.

Eligibility for immunization at a super site or pop-up clinic has lowered to include people aged 54 and older and First Nation people aged 34 and older.

Appointments for the super sites in Winnipeg, Brandon, Thompson, Selkirk and Morden as well as the pop-up sites across the province can be booked online at protectmb.ca or by phone at 1-844-626-8222.

To find a pharmacy or medical clinic offering the AstraZeneca vaccine visit the Vaccine Shot Finder website at www.gov.mb.ca/covid19/vaccine/finder.html
