Vacant Kate Street home goes up in flames

Early this morning, September 12, 2019, firefighters responded to a well-involved fire on Kate Street.

When crews arrived they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the two and a half storey structure. A defensive attack was launched.

It took some time but eventually firefighters made their way inside the building to extinguish the remains of the blaze. By 4:15 am, nearly two hours after it had started the fire was out,

A search of the building found no one inside.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
