Vacant house destroyed in Saturday night fire

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was called to a vacant house on Stella Avenue just west of Salter Street minutes before 9:00 pm on Saturday, January 21, 2023.

When firefighters arrived they found a two-and-a-half-storey vacant house with smoke and flames coming from the roof. A defensive attack was launched from outside the building due to unsafe conditions. Crews used hand lines and an aerial ladder truck to fight the fire which was declared under control at 10:13 pm.
