UPDATE – Man Murdered on Wellington Ave –

At around 6:30pm Thursday emergency crews responded to reports of a man shot in the 600 block of Wellington Avenue.

The victim was transported to hospital with gunshot wounds to the upper body where he later died. He has been identified as George Preiston,  29-years-old.

Preston’s dog was also shot in the assault that witnesses say involved military style assault weapons

Officers located two male suspects in the area and they have been charged with First Degree Murder, Fail to Comply with Recognizance x 2, Cruelty to Animals.

The suspects have been identified as Raymond DUCHARME, 25 and  Shawn POITRA, 25 both of Winnipeg

The investigation continues as police are still looking for the weapon involved anyone with information is asked to call police 204-986-7983 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
