Investigators had the substance tested and the result showed that the powder was not fentanyl. However testing on other seized items showed that the drug Carfentanil was present and it is that drug that is believed to be a contributing factor in the child’s medical distress.
Police have already charged both parents with failure to provide the necessities of life, cause bodily harm by criminal negligence and possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
