Winnipeg police have released the details regarding the attack on a 16 year old male in Garden City Collegiate on Wednesday.
Police were called to the report of a weapon at the school around 11:20 am January 25, 2017. The initial information they were working with indicated that a male armed with a machete had assaulted a male youth inside the school.
When police arrived they located the victim and he was taken to hospital where he was treated for his injuries and released.
Police identified and arrested a 16 year old male in connection with the incident. He has been charged with Robbery, Assault with a weapon and Fail to comply with probation.
The suspect was detained in custody.
