When crews arrived on scene they could see smoke coming from a two-storey townhouse and launched an offensive attack.

The occupants in the home made it out safely before firefighters arrived. Paramedics assessed the three occupants on scene but no one was taken to hospital.

An offensive attack was launched and the blaze was brought under control around 2:20 pm.

The fire was contained to the one suite but it suffered extensive water, fire and smoke damage.

WFPS says that crews helped to remove guinea pigs from a neighbouring suite and get them back to their owners.

Fire officials say that they believe unattended cooking is to blame for the fire.

Flora Avenue

Firefighters also went to a second structure fire on on Sunday just after 5:00 pm on Flora Avenue.

As crews arrived at the single-storey vacant house they encountered smoke coming from the structure and launched an offensive attack. The fire was declared under control about 5:50 pm.

No one was found inside and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
