Two Youths Charged with Second-Degree Murder and Attempted Murder in Easterville

Two female youths, aged 14 and 13, have been charged with second-degree murder and attempted murder in connection with a homicide that occurred on May 4, 2024, according to the Chemawawin RCMP.

The charges stem from a disturbance at a residence in Easterville, where officers found a 32-year-old female in critical condition from her injuries. Despite the immediate medical attention provided by EMS, the victim tragically succumbed to her injuries. A second victim, a 35-year-old female, was found nearby with non-life-threatening injuries. She was transported to a hospital in Winnipeg, where she remains in stable condition.

On May 5, 2024, both youths were formally charged and remanded into custody. The 35-year-old female victim continues to recover in the hospital.

The Chemawawin RCMP, along with the RCMP Major Crimes Services and Forensic Identification Services, are continuing their investigation into this tragic incident. The arrest and charges against the two youths mark a significant development in the case, but the investigation is ongoing as authorities work to piece together the events that led to this tragic loss of life.
