Police say that at this point an altercation broke out and the victim was stabbed several times in the upper body. The victim was taken to hospital by paramedics in unstable condition.

An hour later in a second incident that appears to be unrelated, a 42-year-old female was located at Parr Street and Jarvis Avenue after someone called in a report of an injured woman to emergency services.

The woman was suffering from a single stab wound, multiple lacerations and bruises. She was taken to hospital in unstable condition.

The Major Crimes Unit has taken over both investigations and is asking anyone with information about either incident to contact them at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
