Two women stabbed at Main Street and Mayfair Avenue

Winnipeg Police Service Major Crimes Unit is investigating two stabbings that happened near Main Street and Mayfair Avenue on Saturday, February 18, 2023.

According to investigators, around 7:15 pm a woman in her 20s was followed when she got off a Winnipeg Transit bus by an unknown female. As the victim walked a short distance from the bus stop she was stabbed for no apparent reason. The victim was able to flee the area by getting onto another bus. Police say that the victim was not injured as the weapon did not puncture through all of her clothing.

Fifteen minutes later a second female in her 20s was stabbed and robbed. The suspect is believed to be the same in both incidents. The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition. The suspect fled north on Main Street.
