It has been going on for months in the town of Oakbank, just east of Winnipeg, mailboxes are having their locks cut off and the contents stolen,
Police say that since April 2018 they have received more than 200 complaints of stolen mail from the RM of Springfield, Rm of St. Clements, East St. Paul and Selkirk.
Investigators say that a man and a woman had been forging their names onto cheques stolen from the mailboxes and then cashing those cheques. Police also learned that some of the cheques the pair cashed had been stolen from mailboxes in Winnipeg.
29-year-old Brady Laverdure and 44-year-old Ryan Fortescue were both arrested on June 29, 2018, and charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Uttering Forged Document as well as Fraud under $5000 x9 for providing false addresses to receive Employment and Income Assistance.
Now just a little over two weeks later police are looking for the pair again and need the public to help in locating them.
Police say both are wanted for failing to comply with their court order and Brady Laverdure is also wanted for obstruction of Justice.
