A 13-year-old male and a 14-year-old female are facing charges after they allegedly robbed a Dale Boulevard business at around 2:00 am on Friday, December 30, 2022.

Police say the pair went behind the counter of the store while it was left unattended and stole multiple cigarette and tobacco products. When the 66-year-old employee returned one of the suspects discharged bear spray in the direction of the man as they fled the store. Police say the stolen property was valued at approximately $2,000.

When officers arrived on the scene they found the employee suffering from the effects of the bear spray. He was treated by paramedics at the scene.

Officers located the suspects in the first 100 block of Westgrove Way and were able to take them into custody after a short foot pursuit.

The 13-year-old male was charged for his alleged involvement with Robbery, Possession of a Weapon and two counts of Fail to Comply with Condition of Undertaking. He was detained in custody.

The 14-year-old girl was charged with Robbery for her alleged involvement. She was released on an Undertaking.
