Police not sure if incidents are related
Two suspicious incidents that happened a day a part have police concerned.
The first incident happend around 9:30 pm on Wednesday May 10, 2017 in the area of Dakota Street and Beliveau Road.
Police say an 11 year old boy was cycling in the area when he was approached by an male offering candy. The youth began yo leave and was chased a short distance by the male.
Police are looking for an adult male that is 30 to 40 years old with a dark medium length beard with no moustache who was wearing black clothing, black shoes and black gloves.
The second incident happened the next day May 11, 2017 around 4:00pm in the area of Bournais Drive and Rougeau Avenue.
In this incident a 14 year old female had exited a bus and passed a car with a man sitting inside. The man offered the girl candy and followed her a short distance.
The suspect is described as white, 50 to 60 years old with a heavy build, facial hair and glasses, wearing a white shirt.
He was driving an older model silver 4-door car with rust above the wheels.
Police say they do not know if the two incidents are related but the incident is being investigated by the Major Crimes Unit. Investigators are asking anyone with information that may help them to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
