Two suspects arrested for allegedly killing man found in trash bin

Winnipeg Police Service homicide detectives have arrested two women in connection to the killing of a man who was found in a Lansdowne Avenue trash bin.

Police were called and began an investigation after a resident found a body inside a garbage bin on Wednesday March 25, 2020.

The victim has been identified as John Oohoonni Kirkwa, 33 from Arviat, Nunavut.

Late Thursday night, March 26, 2020, investigators arrested 48-year-old Roberta Ann Jessamine and 46-year-old Selena Dawn Cross. Both women have been charged with Second Degree Murder for their alleged involvement.

Both suspects remain in custody.
