Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service members where busy overnight extinguishing two structure fires.
House Fire
Around 12:40 am Tuesday morning, January 7, 2020, firefighters responded to a two-storey home on Collegiate Avenue.
Emergency crews encountered smoke coming from the building and launched an offensive attack. It took about 40 minutes but the blaze was under control just before 1:20 am.
Firefighters went room to room and did not find anyone inside.
No injuries were reported.
The fire is under investigation.
Garage Fire
The second fire happened just before 7:00 am. Crews rolled up on a detached garage on Ethelbert Street that was billowing smoke.
An offensive attack was launched and the fire was brought under control by 7:14 am.
No injuries were reported.
