Firefighters were busy Saturday morning battling two fires, one on Young Street the other on Ellice Avenue.
Young Street
At 9:12 am crews responded to a fire in a vacant house in the 300 block of Young Street.
Heavy smoke and Flames were coming from the structure when firefighters arrived on the scene an and offensive attack was launched. The fire was declared under control at 9:47 am.
Crews searched the building and confirmed no one was inside.
No injuries were reported.
Ellice Avenue
At 10:33 am crews once again responded to a fire, this time in a two-storey home in the 700 block of Ellice Avenue.
When firefighters arrived smoke was coming from the structure and offensive attack was launched and the fire was brought under control by 11:01 am.
Everyone who had been in the house were able to get out before fire crews arrived. No injuries were reported.
The cause of both fires is under investigation say officials.
