Two recent Winnipeg homicides are linked, say police

Two recent Winnipeg homicides are linked according to Winnipeg Police Service Investigators.

On January 29, 2023, officers were called to a hospital after being told about a seriously injured male. Their investigation took them to a hotel in the 600 block of Main Street where 40-year-old Carl George Wescoupe was found dead.

On February 1, 2023, officers went to a hotel in the 800 block of Main Street after a man had gone there seeking help after being stabbed. Officers were then directed to a residence in the 100 block of Selkirk Avenue where they found 40-year-old Lee James Boulette deceased.

Investigators determined that the homicides were not random and both cases are linked.

Police have charged 39-year-old Kurtis Joseph Dilallo, 31-year-old Robert Shawn Murdock and 54-year-old Ernest John Young for their alleged involvement with two counts of First Degree Murder and two counts of Aggravated Assault each.

All three accused were detained in custody.
