Two news cases of COVID-19 identified Monday, 35 cases active

Two new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Manitoba on Monday, May 11, 2020. The total number of lab-confirmed and probable cases is now 289.

Four people are currently being treated in hospital for the virus with one patient in intensive care.

The number of deaths related to COVID-19 in Manitoba remains at Seven.

247 people have recovered from the virus with 35 cases still listed as active.

374 tests for COVID-19 were performed on Sunday, May 10, 2020, bringing the total number of tests performed since early February to 31,029.

Over the weekend two of the people listed as positive for COVID-19 were part of the cluster of a workplace outbreak in western Manitoba. The additional cases bring the total related to the cluster to 10 individuals.

Testing criteria now includes all symptomatic Manitobans. Anyone showing symptoms still needs to be referred for testing by calling Health Links at 204-788-8200 or 1-888-315-9257.

Effective this week moving forward the daily public health media briefing will move to three times per week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. News 4 will continue to stream the media briefing live.
