Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service were called to fires involving two neighbouring two-storey homes in the 500 block of Mountain Avenue around 7:47 pm on Friday, February 2, 2024.
According to fire officials the building were fully engulfed in smoke and flames when firefighters arrived on the scene. A defensive attack was launched using handlines and aerial ladders.
Crews evacuated neighbouring homes on both sides of the fire.
The fire was declared under control at 9:46 pm.
No injuries were reported.
Both homes suffered significant smoke, fire and water damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
