Two men in The Pas are facing weapons charges in two separate incidents on Thursday evening and Friday morning.
Police say that around 7:00 pm on Thursday March 18, 2021 they received a report about a male with a handgun on Smith Avenue. Police say they learned that the male was pointing the weapon at home in the area.
Officers found the male and ordered him to drop the weapon but he fled on foot. Officers pursued and as the male was fleeing he threw the gun away. Officers caught up to the suspect and placed him under arrest.
The firearm turned out to be a pellet gun.
The 18-year-old male suspect was detained in custody with charges pending.
Around 1:00 am this morning, March 19, police were called to Cathedral Avenue in The Pas. According to callers the male was firing a handgun in the area.
Officers quickly found the male and placed him under arrest. The weapon turned out to be a BB gun.
The 32-year-old male was detained in custody and charges are pending
RCMP say the investigations into both incidents are continuing.
