RCMP respond to two fatal snowmobile collisions over the weekend

RCMP officers responded to two separate snowmobile collisions that claimed the lives of two men.

On Saturday, November 30, 2019, Officers from the Killarney detachment were called to the scene of a collision between a snow machine and a tree north-west of Ninette.

A 28-year-old male was travelling northbound on the side of the road when he appears to have veered off and hit the tree. He was taken to hospital but died shortly afterwards.

Police say he was not wearing a helmet.

On Sunday, December 1, 2019, officers from Churchill were called to a scene where a 20-year-old male drove his snowmobile into the back of a parked flat-deck semi-trailer. The victim was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene.

RCMP say that both collisions are under investigation.
