Two men are facing firearms charges after the Guns and Gangs Unit executed a search warrant at a William Whyte area residence on Wednesday, November 24, 2021.

Officers located a loaded sawed-off rifle along with ammunition.

30-year-old Michael Maurice Mentuck and William Garnet Lemay, aged 50, were charged for their alleged involvement with Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized, Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition, two counts of Possession of Firearm Restricted/Prohibited Weapon, Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition and Tampering with Serial Number of a Firearm

Both of the accused are residents of Winnipeg and both were detained in custody.
