Two males charged in Saturday morning homicide

Winnipeg Police Service Major Crimes Unit have charged two men in connection to the homicide of a 52-year-old male on Saturday, July 31, 2021.

Investigators say that the two males were rummaging through a shopping cart that contained the property of the victim when he confronted them and an argument ensued. The argument escalated to a physical fight where the victim was repeatedly punched and kicked until he was knocked unconscious.

Police became aware of the fight after being contacted several hours later and found the victim suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital in critical condition.

Police arrested a two males in connection to the assault and detained them in custody.

On August 2 the victim died to his injuries in hospital. He has been identified as Peter Louis Bogaki of Winnipeg.

Police have charged 19-year-old Isaac Nicholas Richard-McKay of Winnipeg for his alleged involvement with Second Degree murder

22-year-old Kadin Seth Young of Winnipeg has been charged for his alleged involvement with Manslaughter.

Both suspects remain in custody.
