A violent altercation in Winnipeg’s Central Park on Monday afternoon resulted in two individuals being hospitalized with stab wounds. Winnipeg Police have arrested a 19-year-old in connection with the incident.
Officers responded to reports of a fight involving multiple people near Cumberland Avenue and Carlton Street around 4:20 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a 23-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man suffering from injuries consistent with stab wounds.
Both victims were taken to hospital in unstable condition but have since been upgraded to stable.
Police located the suspect nearby and took him into custody without further incident. During the arrest, officers seized a knife, which is now being held as evidence.
The suspect has been identified as Ethan Shaden McDonald, 19, of Winnipeg. He has been charged for his alleged involvement with two counts of Assault with a Weapon.
