Two homicides and a stabbing under investigation by police

Winnipeg Police Service and the RCMP are investigating two homicides as wells a serious assault outside Seven Oaks Hospital on Wednesday, October 27, 2021.

At about 12:40 pm RCMP were called to a home in the RM of Hanver. When officers arrived they found a deceased 73-year-old female.

Police identified a male suspect who was known to the victim. They believed that the suspect had travelled into Winnipeg.

Winnipeg Police determined that the suspect may be in the area of Leila Avenue and McPhillips Street. As officers were en route they learned a stabbing had occurred at Seven Oaks Hospital. A woman in her 60s had been seriously injured. She was taken to hospital in critical condition and remains in serious condition.

Winnipeg Police took a male in his 30s into custody.

Later Wednesday evening RCMP went to a home in the 300 block of Toronto Street as part of the homicide investigation. Officers discovered a male in his 70s dead inside the residence. WPS Homicide Unit are investigating the mans death.

Police believe that all three incidents are related.

No charges have been laid at this time.
