Manitoba Conservation and Climate says that conservation officers have ticketed and fined two men after doing a routine check along the Red River near Selkirk on Thursday, May 28, 2020.
The fishermen were spotted by officers carrying a plastic container back to their vehicle from the banks of the river.
Officers approached the men and found that the fishers had dumped the contents of the container into van. A check of the van uncovered 30 freshwater drum. The legal limit is 10.
Officers issued a ticket for $602 and a fine in the amount of $840.
Manitoba Conservation and Climate encourages members of the public to report illegal activities by calling their offices or through the Turn in Poachers (TIP) line at 1-800-782-0076.
