Two fires within hours of each other under investigation

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to the report of a fire in a single storey house on William Newton Avenue just before 10:00 pm on Tuesday, July 7, 2020.

As crews arrived they encountered heavy smoke and launched an offensive attack.

The fire was brought under control within about 30 minutes.

Investigators were on scene to determine the cause of the blaze.

At 1:42 am on July 8, 2020, fire crews returned to the same house this time for a fire in the detached shed.

The second fire was quickly brought under control.

No injuries were reported in either fire and both are under investigation.
