Two females in custody after shots fired at home

Winnipeg police have arrested two females after a Windmill Way home was shot at early Thursday, morning, May 20, 2021.

Police say they were called to the area after receiving reports that several people with guns had shot at the residence. Three people inside the home were not injured.

Officers locate a stolen vehicle shortly after the incident in the 200 block of Barker Boulevard. Two female suspects were taken into custody. When officers searched the vehicle they found a .22 calibre rifle, a large machete, a can of bear spray and 2,85 ounces of Meth worth about $1,700.

32-year-old Jennifer Ashley Clarke has been charged for her alleged involvement with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
  • Transports Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition in a Careless Manner
  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Possession of a Weapon (x3)
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Discharge a Firearm Into or At a Place in a Reckless Manner
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Identity Fraud – Intent to Gain Advantage
  • Fail to Comply with Condition of Release Order (x5)

22-year-old Amy Dale Monkman was charged for her alleged involvement with:

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Transports Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition in a Careless Manner
  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Possession of a Weapon (x3)
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Discharge a Firearm Into or At a Place in a Reckless Manner
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine

Both of the accused were detained in custody.

Police say that they do not know id the accused and residents in the home know each other. The investigation continues.
