RCMP have arrested and charged two adult females in connection to the fatal collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on the Winter Road west of Gods Lake Narrows.
On Friday, April 1, 2022, police received a report of the collision around 4:00 am. When officers arrived on the scene they found an abandoned vehicle stuck in the snow with damage to the front end. They also located a seriously injured 22-year-old male further down the road.
The male was transported to the community nursing station as an officer performed CPR and the other drove. Once there the victim was pronounced dead.
Police were able to identify the driver and passenger in the vehicle at the time of the collision.
The 29-year-old female passenger and 34-year-old driver of the vehicle have both been charged fr their alleged involvement with Failing to Stop at the Scene of a Collision resulting in Death.
Both were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
