Two female armed robbers facing charges, say police

Winnipeg Police have arrested two females in their 20s in connection to three armed robberies over the past month.

On October 7 a female went into a retail outlet in the 600 block of Empress Street. According to police, she stole about $1,000 worth of merchandise while armed with a weapon and threatened staff as she made her escape.

On October 15 a retail outlet in the 1500 block of Regent Avenue was the victim of an armed robbery by a female. In this theft the suspect made off with about $2,000 worth or merchandise. Like the previous robbery the staff in the store were threatened as the suspect fled the business.

On Wednesday, November 3 a retail store in the 600 block of Empress Street was robbed, this time by two female suspects. Like the previous robberies the suspects were armed and threatened store employees as they made their escape.

Police have detained two suspects who are facing charges.
