Two in custody on weapons charges after man flees from police

Winnipeg Police have arrested two suspects on multiple weapons charges.

On Sunday, May 26, 2019 officers observed a male in the the area of Cumberland Avenue And Balmoral Street weaving in an out of traffic on a bicycle.

As they attempted to talk to the man he fled the area on his bike.

A short time later the male was seen going into a yard on Maryland Avenue. As he lifted his bicycle officers could see a weapon in the waistband of his pants.

Police ordered the man to stop but he ignored them and went inside the residence.

Police followed the man inside and took him into custody along with a female who was also in the home.

Officers then applied for a search warrant and during the search found a stash of weapons including:

  • 11 improvised firearms (two loaded)
  • .22 calibre bolt action prohibited firearm with a sling
  • Numerous improvised firearm parts in various stages of completion
  • Various power tools used to manufacture improvised
  • Approximately 1 gram of methamphetamine valued at $50.00 Canadian

Leslie Randolph Beaulieu, 27 and Krista Marie Roulette, 38, both from Winnipeg are facing weapons and other charges for their alleged involvement.

Both suspects were detained in custody.
