A 36-year-old man is recovering in hospital after being stabbed in a convenience store on Dale Boulevard late Friday night. Winnipeg Police have arrested two individuals in connection with the incident.
Officers from the West District General Patrol responded to a call at approximately 9:35 p.m. on March 7, 2025, reporting an assault at a store in the 500 block of Dale Boulevard. Upon arrival, they found the victim suffering from a serious upper-body injury, consistent with a stabbing. Police applied multiple tourniquets to control the bleeding before paramedics transported the man to hospital. He underwent surgery and is now in stable condition.
According to police reports, the suspects fled the scene before officers arrived. However, with the assistance of Air1, the police helicopter, a vehicle believed to be involved in the incident was located and stopped in the sub 100 block of Norlorne Drive at approximately 10:20 p.m. Four occupants of the vehicle were arrested without incident. A subsequent search of the car revealed an air pistol and a machete, which police believe were used in the assault. Both items were seized as evidence.
Investigators say the victim and the suspects had engaged in a verbal altercation inside the convenience store before separating. The suspects then returned a short time later, armed with the machete, and attacked the victim.
